Editorial Content Categories
Crush online magazine has four main content categories. The topics that fit in these categories are wide, so most likely your post will fit in.
Business & Leadership
Practical strategies and bold insights for rebel leaders who are building businesses that drive profit and purpose. Grow faster, lead better, and redefine what success looks like.
Voices
Stories from trailblazers who are challenging the status quo. Real experiences, authentic perspectives, and the truth about what it takes to be a thought-leader today.
Culture & Society
Breaking barriers, building equity, and highlighting diverse voices in art and culture. Explore the ideas, narratives, and actions that are redefining how we work, lead, and live together.
Lifestyle
Discover how to design a life that fuels your business, honors your values, and proves you don't have to choose between success and authenticity. Live life to the fullest.
Editorial Styles
Once you see that your article fits one of the categories, think of the style of the post. The content style and tone of voice matter.
1. Expert Deep-Dive Posts
Purpose: Establish authority, provide in-depth knowledge, and perform well in search engines. Your posts will be promoted on Crush newsletter and LinkedIn page.
Length: 1,500–2,500 words
How many posts: Minimum of 5 posts in a series. Authority is established with multiple posts.
Tone & Style: Professional, insightful, evidence-based, actionable
Examples: How-to guides, industry analysis, detailed strategies.
Tips: Include references, examples, and practical takeaways. Make it your definitive guide on the topic.
Author bio: You will be featured as an official Crush columnist and receive your own bio with an author image and link to your LinkedIn page.
2. Thought Leadership & Brand-Driven Stories
Purpose: Showcase your unique perspective, personal brand, and experiences.
Length: 800–1,200 words
How many posts: One-time as a Guest Writer, but minimum of 5 posts if you want to become a featured Author.
Tone & Style: Authentic, reflective, inspiring
Examples: Leadership lessons, founder journeys, brand philosophies, product or service introductions through storytelling.
Tips: Weave in stories, lessons learned, and your personal voice. Aim to engage readers emotionally while sharing information.
3. Timely Updates & Quick Tips
Purpose: Share news, promotions, or short actionable tips that drive engagement. These posts can sell, but remember that good selling is helping people to buy.
Length: 500–800 words
How many posts: Once per year per member for free, more for additional cost.
Tone & Style: Concise, clear, approachable. You can sell, but make it editorial with a call-to-action, not a sales pitch.
Examples: Industry or business news, event announcements, single actionable advice, event promotion, sales campaign.

Tips: Link to deeper posts or resources for readers who want to explore further, or link to your sales page, or a newsletter sign-up page.
Additional Guidelines
Categories and editorial styles are flexible, but your message, tone of voice, and values must align with ours.
Write for "business friends," not like a business pitch or press release. Avoid using AI if you want to grow your own voice and build authority. No emojis. Include clear headings and subheadings for readability.
Send a minimum of 1–2 images, one horizontal. Original photos are preferred; if you don’t have them, we can add stock images.
Proofread for clarity, grammar, and style.
Send a one-sentence bio of yourself and your photo if we are creating an author bio for you (required for five-post authors).
Video content can be included but must be hosted on YouTube. Videos still require a minimum of 800 words of text and a header image.
All articles need to follow editorial guidelines and match Crush values. We reserve the right to reject content.
